Hosted and curated by one of the UK’s best-known journalists, Killer Britain with Dermot Murnaghan explores British murder stories filled with detective intrigue and chilling storylines.

In this extended 11 episode run, Murnaghan will guide viewers through some of the most deeply shocking crimes of recent times.

These include the murder and dismemberment in May 2019 of Julia Rawson at the hands of horror film fanatic Nathan Maynard-Ellis and his boyfriend David Leesley; the multiple murders and rapes by the so-called ‘Grindr Killer’, Stephen Port; the brutal and senseless slaying of much loved Bradford born mother of five Vera Hudson by her neighbour Mark Jewitt; the abduction and murder in February 2019 of Libby Squire by Pawel Relowicz; the case of nurse Ben Geen, who murdered two of his patients; and the brutal murder of Shafilea Ahmed by her parents Iftikhar and Farzana Ahmed.

The seventh episode reflects on the savage strangling of 17-year-old Emily Longley at the hands of her boyfriend Elliott Turner in his family home in Bournemouth.

Well-known in the local bar and club scene, Turner enjoyed the high-life, and the pair would relish the party scene. However, Turner’s obsessive and jealous behaviour caused their relationship to become volatile and descend into violent arguments.

Following a heated row, Turner grabbed Emily by the neck before pressing down on her as she lay on the bed suffocating- then using his arms he strangled her. He told the Court he found her motionless in bed the next morning.

Turner claimed it was self-defence but was convicted of Emily’s murder in 2012 alongside his parents who were found guilty of perverting the course of justice by helping cover up his crime.

The seventh episode of Killer Britain airs on Monday 28th March at 9pm and will be available to stream on C+I Play on 29th March. Episodes will be available on C+I Play weekly, with Killer Britain S1, S2 & S3 available to stream now.
