The tragic story Cassandra McDermott. It took a brutal attack on another woman and a decade of chasing before her killer was caught. Six years after the attack on Cassandra, Celaire (Her ex-boyfriend), attacked another ex-girlfriend, Kara Hoyte. The assault left Hoyte with terrible injuries including severe brain damage but she was still able to identify her attacker to police. Detectives noticed the similarities between the two attacks and arrested Celaire after the 2005 repeal of an 800-year-old legal principle in England and Wales.
