Arthur Shawcross was on his third marriage when he took two of his neighbour’s children fishing. The youngest was 10-year-old Jack Blake. The boy disappeared soon after, and his suspicious mother accused Shawcross.

But it wasn’t till he killed 8-year-old Karen Hill that the police arrested him. In jail, he was a model prisoner and was released early. He had now learnt that too much attention was generated by missing children and so he began to target those who no one would miss...
