Man beaten by girlfriend, then attacked by onlookers

Being physically attacked is one of the most feared crimes for people, so spare a thought for Daniel Copeland who was recently attacked with two knives by his drunken girlfriend, before being beaten by an aspiring have-a-go hero.

After hearing screams in Copeland’s holiday chalet, 37-year-old Raffal Kossowski entered the room and mistakenly attempted to rescue 22-year-old Megan Natasha Evans, who was assaulting her boyfriend.
Kossowski was under the impression that Copeland was the aggressor, and kicked him with such force that he broke his arm.

Copeland was subsequently dragged outside where he was further beaten by two other men.
During the court case, Judge Niclas Parry announced the severity of the incident, declaring that It was a “sustained, repeated assault by Evans who with a knife caused an injury to the abdomen which was very serious.”

Evans, who had never been in any trouble before, was told to have been pushed to the floor before getting the knife.

She admitted wounding charges and received a two year prison sentence suspended for two years, with 250 hours unpaid work, and ten days rehabilitation.

Kossowski also admitted wounding charges, and received a 16 month prison sentence suspended for two years with 200 hours unpaid work and £750 compensation.
