Murderer Mark Chapman sentenced to 20 years for shooting Beatle

He had started the trial claiming insanity, was judged sane, pleaded not guilty, was supposedly persuaded by God to confess, and now, after a trial where he had mainly promoted the literary merits of ‘The Catcher in the Rye’, he had been sentenced to a minimum of 20 years imprisonment.

But the man who killed his idol to be famous will probably never be released...
