Crime + Investigation are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of the great character actors of his generation, Robbie Coltrane. We were fortunate to work with Robbie on the series #CriticalEvidence from 2016-2018.
Robbie had an abiding interest in the subject area, not only due to one of his most famous TV drama roles – that of Eddie ‘Fitz’ Fitzgerald in Cracker – but also because his father Ian had been a GP and a Police Forensic Surgeon.
As with all his projects, Robbie threw himself into it with gusto and proved one of Crime+Investigation’s best-loved and most admired on-screen talents.
He will be sorely missed.
