At 1.00 am Donna Lauria, 18, is chatting in her car to her friend, Jody Valenti, 19. They are parked outside Donna’s house and she promises her returning parents that she and Jody will come in soon.
Donna notices Berkowitz first. He fires five times, killing Donna instantly and wounding Jody. He keeps pulling the trigger even though the gun is empty.
