Miss Kathleen McDonald, known as Katie, died at her home on a Friday at the age of 73 after a visit by Dr Shipman. He certified that the cause of her death was cerebrovascular accident due to arteriosclerosis and he said that she died in his arms.
As later experts would testify, and as common sense dictates, it is extremely unusual for a patient to suddenly die in the presence of a general practitioner.
She would not be the last to suffer such a sudden death during the visit of Dr Shipman...
