Without Malcolm X, few would have heard of The Nation of Islam, but after celebrity converts like Cassius Clay, the whole world knew of the group that had Muhammad Ali as a member.

But perhaps because of Malcolm’s preacher father, he became disillusioned with the Nation’s leaders luxurious lives. After a Mecca pilgrimage, he adopted a non-violent philosophy.

Despite this, his house was firebombed. One week later, he was killed by a paramilitary branch of the Nation of Islam...
