The murderous mother and son were arrested separately with Gordon Northcott captured in British Columbia.
At first, Gordon denied that he was the killer of four boys and his mother confessed to the murders.
He then changed his mind and claimed to be responsible for the murder of nine boys.
Such delaying tactics would become a hallmark of his defence after extradition.
