After far too many kills, the police found the corroborating evidence that Moses Sithole was the sadist they were after and they released his picture to the press. Despite a massive manhunt, he raped and killed again.
But the public pressure on him forced him to go to a family member for help and his meeting was under surveillance. Breaking cover, the police went to arrest Moses but he resisted, so they shot him twice, once in the stomach.
