The surviving followers of David Koresh - failed rock star, messiah, and siege leader - brought a $100 million wrongful death suit against the US government for the 76 that died in the Waco Siege.
Even although they had been manufacturing arms illegally, when tried, the survivors were treated leniently by the jury in recognition of the tragedy of Waco.
However, in this case, the taxpaying public weren’t about to compensate Koresh’s followers and a month later the jury ruled the government not guilty...
