Jury takes 45 minutes to acquit Dr Adams of murdering patients

The jury decided that Dr John Adams was an angel of mercy whose priority was his patients’ pain and not a murderer who killed for pecuniary advantage.

The press rumoured that the police had only arrested him before the case was ready because they were so concerned by the numbers he was killing.

But Dr Adams later successfully sued many of them for libel. He was subsequently struck off for other reasons but was then reinstated as a general practitioner.

He died with no one knowing his motives...
