Undertaker suspicious as Dr Shipman patient death toll nears 200

The local undertaker Deborah Bambroffe (formerly Massey) was becoming concerned over the high death rate of Harold Shipman’s patients, but as she said later, her suspicions seemed ‘so ludicrous’ at the time.

Her father, Alan Massey actually confronted Shipman over the large number of deaths of patients who were fully clothed, sat upright, and who had just been out shopping.

But Shipman didn’t flinch, flicked open his register as if he had nothing to hide, and calmed his concerns...
