Ned Kelly, the son of Irish immigrants, is the Robin Hood of Australia or a cold blooded murderer, depending on your point of view.

His use of a suit of armour against the guns of the law and his death on the gallows at the age of 25 ensured his international icon status.

In 1906 he was the subject of what is alleged to be the first feature film, 'The Story of the Kelly Gang' and since then he has featured in every known medium from the printed word to big-budget feature films.
