Lindbergh baby snatcher sends third ransom note

This third note was only one of 13 pieces of correspondence between the Lindbergh’s and their son’s kidnappers and was sent to the Lindbergh’s attorney.

The second ransom demand had increased the amount from $50,000 to $70,000. By this time, a mass of agencies and people were involved in the case.

The sheer volume of personnel who had access to confidential information meant that verification of future ransom demands as authentic, became impossible...
