It was the arrogance of the pretentious petty criminal Ian Brady that undid the Moors Murderers.

They let Myra Hindley’s brother in law, David Smith, witness the axe murder of 17-year-old Edward Evans and then, believing they had found a like minded soul, they told Smith about the other killings.

Smith was actually terrified and immediately went to the police who found the body in Brady’s home...
