Among the cases:

The Donald Ruby Case
A mutilated female torso is found in a box along a Pennsylvania riverbank. The torso is eventually identified as Edna Marie Posey, a troubled woman whose 12-year-old son was living with his Boy Scout leader, Donald Ruby.

Criss/Cross
The scantily clad body of a woman is found in a Manhattan parking lot. Her husband admits to police that the two had fought while dancing in a nightclub, but he had an alibi: he was at the club at the time of the murder. The plot thickens when the dead woman's best friend is murdered in her home shortly thereafter.

The Good Doctor
One of only two doctors serving the remote community of Kipling, Saskatchewan, Dr. John Schneeberger was highly regarded by his patients, until one of them charged him with drugging and raping her.

The Stella Nickells Case
A woman is found dead after taking two painkiller capsules, which were found to have been laced with cyanide. A few days later, after a massive recall of the product, Stella Nickells notified police that her husband had taken the same painkiller immediately before he died, but the coroner had attributed his death to emphysema.

The American Dream
In October 1995, Emilita Reeves, a young Filipino married to a retired Army intelligence officer named Jack Reeves, disappeared in Arlington, Texas. Police investigating the case became suspicious of Jack when they learned his two previous wives had died.

Siamese Twins
When identical twins Chang and Eng arrived in New York from Siam in 1829, they were a sensation. Joined at the waist by a six-inch band of tissue, the brothers were dubbed "The Eighth Wonder of the World," and, to all observers, seemed to be happy.
