When Joseph ‘Jojo’ Barefoot, 11, is reported missing in Columbia, South Carolina, it is presumed that he has run away from home. Months go by before his body is found deep in the woods. A seventeen-year-old high school senior, Michael Saltz Junior, is charged with his murder.

Despite his confession to police, Michael Saltz pleads his innocence.
