Gladis Soto was a kind loving woman, a wife and mother. However, her life was far from the picture postcard she so wished. She was married to an abusive monster who, almost from the start of their marriage, would verbally, physically and sexually abuse her.

Gladis’ love for him would always shine through and she believed his sincere apologies each time, sure he would eventually change his ways. Sadly however the story took a far more tragic turn.

Fearing continuously for the safety of herself and her children, Gladis finally struck out one night, after her husband returned from his mistress to once again rape her. This would however, be the very last time.

What would a jury decide though when presented with a woman who killed her husband after suffering years of perpetual abuse at his hands?
