This film follows a con artist from Mississippi to Greenwich, on to Rome and eventually Frankfurt, Germany. The criminal, Martin Frankel was a corrupt Wall Street dealer who worked his connections to create a bogus company that used the Vatican to help skim millions of dollars in illegal profits.

Frankel was a high school dropout, who parlayed his fictitious stockbroker credentials into one the largest worldwide investment scams in history. After fleeing America with millions of dollars in diamonds and cash, he is eventually captured in Frankfurt, Germany, extradited to America, tried and sentenced to prison.
