28 May - Nazi propagandist Lord Haw Haw captured by British Forces

With the fall of Germany, William Joyce fled to Denmark but he and his wife were intercepted by British soldiers tasked with disarming German troops and segregating out war criminals. Two officers returned to investigate and Joyce went for something in his pocket, so the officer shot him in the thigh.
