First butchered victim of Brighton Trunk Murders found

The first victim was found in a London railway station. An unpleasant smell coming from the left luggage department was found to be emanating from the dismembered body of a woman sealed in a trunk.

The pathologist found a torso with its legs and arms removed but with the shoes and handbag carefully placed in with the trunk. In less than three months, a man would hang for her murder.

In seven years, another trunk with another body would be found, this time at Brighton Railway Station...
