Belvedere Appeal
Officers investigating the murder of a 27-year-old man in Belvedere, south London, on Wednesday 02/09/05 continue to appeal for information about a man they want to speak to in connection with the enquiry.
The victim, Falwinder Singh Badesha, was found at Holmhurst Road, Belvedere, at 19.50 suffering stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem later showed he died of stab wounds. Police are appealing for any information about a man they want to speak to in connection with the murder. He is Sukhdip Singh Chhina, an Indian national, aged 23, who lived at the same address. Detectives believe a fight broke out between the victim and another resident about keeping the house tidy. There were four young men at the address, visiting from the Amritsar area and working locally at a factory. Police have also offered a reward of up to £10,000 for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of his murderer. DI John Oldham, who is leading the enquiry, said: "Chhina left the address before police arrived and we are very keen to trace him. Despite alerting all ports and airports, he has not yet been located in the UK where he has contacts in Gravesend, Kent, Southall in Middlesex, the West Midlands and Ilford in Essex, as well as south east London. "We are in liaison with police forces around the world (NPTDF)." Chhina is 5'9" tall, with short dark hair. When he left the house on the day of the murder, he had a cut to his forehead. He was wearing brown shoes, dark trousers and a coloured checked shirt. He may also have been carrying a plastic bag. DI Oldham added "I am appealing to anyone who may have information about Mr Chhina. Maybe you recognise the description or have heard some information that could lead us to him? We appeal also to Mr Chhina to give himself up for the sake of his friend and attend any police station near to where he is staying." The number to ring with any information is 020 8721 4805, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous. |
