Job Description: Here at AETN UK we're responsible for seven of the UK's leading factual and entertainment channels: History & History HD, Bio & Bio HD, Crime & Investigation Network & CI HD and Military History.

Our programming is regarded as some of the best in the world, including the award winning 102 Minutes That Changed America and the highly popular TV series Ice Road Truckers, Lorraine Kelly's Big Fat Challenge and Steven Seagal: Lawman.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Producer.

To assist the Producer with content management and day-to-day management of the UK and International websites: of HistoryTM, Military History, Bio and Crime and Investigation Network.

Key responsibilities:

· Implementing publishing schedules in a timely manner and to a high
standard.
· Work closely with marketing, scheduling and in-house production staff in the UK and US to implement web publishing schedule effectively.
· Ensure editorial tone and imagery conforms to established guidelines.
· Reviewing site usage and making suggestions to improve editorial content.
· Assist in the launch of new functional features on the sites.
· Selecting and cropping images where appropriate.
· Selecting and writing descriptions for video clips where appropriate.

Essential Qualities:

· Web editorial experience at an Editorial Assistant / Assistant Producer level
· Proficiency with Photoshop
· Understanding of SEO
· Familiarity with web analytics tools
· A good head in a crisis with a proactive approach to problem solving and obsessive attention to detail

Desirable Qualities:

· Enthusiasm for and familiarity with the content of HistoryTM, Military History, Bio and Crime and Investigation Network
· Familiarity with and enthusiasm for User Centred Design and Information Architecture
· Experience of media / broadcast / agency environment
· Some proficiency with HTML, CSS, Javascript
